We are pleased to announce that Saad Dara, CEO and Co-Founder of Mangrove Lithium, has been awarded as one of the 2024 Delta Management Group Clean50 honourees.

”Delta’s criteria in determining Honourees is to carefully consider actual measurable accomplishments, demonstrated innovation, collaboration with other organizations, and the power of the Honouree’s contribution to inspire other Canadians to take similar action.

Saad Dara was chosen after rigourous screening and research by Delta Management, with advice from internal researchers and external advisors, and was among Honourees selected from an initial pool of well over 1,000 well qualified nominees.

The majority of lithium is extracted in North and South America and Australia – but is refined from feedstock to a battery-grade lithium in China, creating huge supply and sometimes political bottleneck. In addition, incumbent technologies used to refine lithium are energy and chemical intensive, as well as creating sodium sulfate waste requiring disposal.   Enter Saad:  Over the last 27 months, Mangrove has proven that their electrochemical technology is able to domestically refine extracted lithium from brines, hard rocks, and recycled batteries into a battery grade lithium hydroxide at a commercial scale more economically, energy efficiently and without the production of waste by-products. Meaning that Canada and other producing regions can have clean, reliable domestic lithium refining, while eliminating the China from the equation.”

– Gavin Pitchford, CEO, Delta Management Group

Saad is honoured to receive this significant mark of distinction and to be in the company of other incredible innovators in the green sector.

Saad Dara will be amongst approximately 130 past and incoming Clean50 Honourees meeting on Thursday September 28th at the “Clean50 Summit 13.0” in Toronto, to spend a day amongst peers and colleagues, tackling critical sustainability challenges facing Canada.
